My Human and Me, we leave the house and, of course, say hi to my neighbor. We get to the next corner and a new neighbor is Bar-B-Qing and playing Smokey Robinson. We stop and talk for awhile. He gives My Human a rib, Human gives me a bite (selfish sapiens, just a bite?) and sends us off down the street. Right next to him, MY neighbors kid’s bought a house. So, I bark as we pass, they wave hi. His kid has the same name as my Human. Was really funny to have them call to their kid and MY Human answered.

As we pass the Giant K Market, I see the shop owners. I see these guys EVERYDAY. My Human once walked up to the store without “The Dood”. The Guy said “I almost didn’t recognize you without the dog.”

We walk down Apple street to find a woman who sits on a little green electrical box while waiting for her Lyft ride. It was funny how I met her. I was walking up behind her, she didn’t see me, so I just sits down right next to her until she sees me. Gave her a little start at first, but now she looks for “The Dood” all the time. Around the corner there’s this shop called “Everybody’s Fit.” The owner makes other humans workout. Her pug is out and across the street again. So, Human and I corral him up and put him in the backdoor of the shop so he’s safe.

There’s a big open field behind the Crouch street station that I likes to go wandering through. This neighborhood has The Women’s Resource Center and The Bread of Life shelter. So, there are some people around here that could really use some help. I meet a lot of the homeless people on our walks. Maybe it’s because they’ve seen me around so much, that My Human has gotten to get to know a few of them, and of course, they ALL know “The Dood”. Most of them are good people. Friendly, talkative, pretty outgoing. I think some talk to us because we can give advice on certain subjects. Where to get a meal, help with job training, stuff like that. Some I think talk to My Human because he may be the only person they talk to all day. But most of the time it’s light conversation, local scuttlebutt about what’s going on the neighborhood. It always amazes me that these guys can keep a smile on their faces and a joke on their lips.

Coming back home we stop by Lundabay Concrete. They make some pretty interesting stuff. All custom made and really cool looking. Justine is usually working in the doorway and will stop what he’s doing, just to come and give “The Dood” a quick pet. He’s so spoiled. I let him pet me whenever I go past his place.

The really funny thing is, NOBODY knows My Humans name. Everybody has to know my name, but the guy on the other end of the leash, is… meh? So, if you’re ever walking around Loma Alta and you see some long haired Hippy with a hot looking blond Lab mix, stop and say hi. I mean to Me, that is. You can just ignore My Human.
